I was thinking about the scale of El Palmar over the weekend. I like this long section view of Cadia (NSW) compared to Red Chris (Canada), both massive porphyry gold-copper deposits. El Palmar is a 2.5km long cluster of targets, but also about 1km wide.
A both Cadia/Ridgeway and Red Chris (as well as Alpala), the highest grades occur at depths of over 500m down to 1000-1500m+.
If El Palmar is potentially 500m-700m wide over 2.5km and mineralised down to 1000m+, it well has the potential to be a world-class deposit.
The sketch of a mammoth deposit is there, we just need to colour in the detail. Grade, width, depth, strike That's going to take 6 -12 months to reveal. Hopefully there are a few juicy high-grade zones down there as is normally the case with big porphyry deposits. The magnetics and rocks to date certainly suggest there is something there.
