You've answered your own question: the market is a forward-looking beast ("pre-meditating", to paraphrase you) and the share price fall took place well before the announcement in the profits. In fact, it fell by ~40% over the preceding 12 months.

As for your closing comment of "...the bull market is not dead, apparently", the following picture doesn't look anything remotely like to a bull market:
