Very fantastic news this, a wonderful surprise to wake up to.

Milk, "Repayment of the grant is triggered upon commercial success, defined by a positive EBITDA metric to be agreed."

EBITDA stands for Earnings before (interest, tax, depreciation and amortization.)

So when EMV hits a certain yet to be agreed upon EBITDA number than the money will be repaid.

Although whilst the receiving of this money is great, the highlight of the announcement for me at least was,

"Beyond grant funding, the support from NSW Medical Devices Fund includes connectivity and access to the broader NSW healthcare system."

THIS will be worth far far far more in the future than the $2.5 million in my opinion although the $2.5 million is obviously great.
