the register is tightly held so can move lots on low volume. remember if even 1 share is traded that is the 'last price'.
I remember a good example of this where a listed company in usa went from 10 million to 500 billion $ company and it only had a single store front due to a very tightly held register after selling just 100 shares. (im being over the top with numbers but you get the idea)
