Webinar started on time and ended around 12.08. I was quite surprised with the short time and lack of questions, although it seemed that the host may have just stuck to the time allocated.
In general it covered the recent data findings. There was a retouch that EMD is targeting treatment for 44 clinical indications with the majority in the chronic pain area.
Noted again that opioid mis-use globally is a big problem with huge costs to medical providers and insurers, with the USA being one of the largest areas of concern.
The case study for data was in league with NostraData who is partnered with IQVIA. 1029 EMD patients were referred for data capture over the period, with the cohort broken into 3 segments, between high opioid use above 90 mg and low use less than 40 mg use.
The questions for the team were:
1.Can the data be validated properly? Answer was YES
2.What were patients doing before entering EMD clinics?
3.What happens once patients stop treatment?
The answers were touch on lightly, but he was confident in all answers.
Questions raised
1.Does EMD refer patients on to other specialists? Answer was not as yet because they are still working with the data and patient and feel point of care is important at this stage.
2.How many patients are EMD seeing? Answer around 1,000 patients monthly continuous and around 150 new patients per month.
3.What is the development plan for the company? The answer was that there are a few models which include providing data to medical providers and insurers, which would amount to cost efficiencies, and also targeting drug development based on the evidence.
That is pretty much what I took away from it. Dr. Winlow was confident, and very professional at all times and as an investor I have more confidence to stick with the growth story. He pretty much intimated, the US was target market and Australia was testing grounds…in my opinion.
I would have liked to see more time allocated to the presentation with an opportunity to ask more questions. Perhaps I will contact the company myself anyway.
Apologies in advance for any typos etc
