"The small sample size" is just the benefit of being able to conduct this therapy outside of an Approved drug and outside of a blinded larger clinical trial. (it means that they can use this early data to advise how they may want to change things up for the next person - e.g. different dosing amounts - typically this would cost you big $$ running multiple blinded clinical trials to get this data). - They dont have to wait they can react and modify.
