I have worked on many integrations over the past and i can tell you you lucky to find any free information on apis that is helpful that are developed by private enterprise that private enterprises use to make money from.
You will generally find Apis semi reasonably documented for open source projects and the rest involves looking at forums and groups and emailing the company asking how to do what isn't currently documented.
For private enterprise APIs you usually have some sort of agreement that allows you access to their internal documentation and support people.
