Torque, you also need to factor in the price of gold increase since back in the day. Many resources that were explored many years ago were not profitable at the time due to the gold price are now being mined as they are now profitable.

As an example, I worked at an open pit copper mine which back in the early 1900s was an underground mine. They wouldnt touch anything that wasnt above 8-10% copper. We were counting anything over 0.8% as high grade.
