I'm sensing there is a growing public (and professional) doubt about the economic viability of "net zero". Let me say up front, that I'm not pro-coal or pro-anything. Just want a sensible energy policy that doesn't disadvantage Australians and force up the general cost of living.
Observe China's energy policy > Everything, everywhere all at once.
That said > HMC have jumped on to this "green" bandwagon thinking that Govt money / corporate money / private money is just going to keep flowing into this (maybe unprofitable) industry if it wasn't for the subsidies, favourable policies, etc. The ROI on this "energy transition" infrastructure is arguably outside HMC to control.
@pastperformer is correct IMO. Debt funding this project is a potential disaster waiting to happen if / when the political landscape changes. To quote PP " They will want to equity fund the debt out quick smart though, as this is how these property managers get caught. Not being able to recycle capital is a death knell." Spot on.
Disclosure: I'm an ex-holder and made a tidy 100% profit. And would get back into HMC at the right SP.
