Hazer is in a unique position now, we are looking at a building a demo plant.
If we go back to March's Company overview there are a few numbers in there, with help of some napkin maths we can kinda work out roughly what the return could be on a 100kg/day hydrogen demo plant.
For the purpose of this I am working on a 250 working days for a year of production.
100kg x 250 days is approx 25 tonnes of hydrogen, costs per tonne after graphite credits is circa $410/tonne of hydrogen. So hypothetically input costs will run at $10,250 to produce that 25 tonnes on a demo plant scale.
I would think in a perfect world Hazer could sell this clean hydrogen to a 3rd party for $10kg, so that is $250,000 of salable hydrogen product after credits. Cost of a Demo Plant would run into 2-3 Million IMO, so payback is 10 years sounds like alot to start with but, this isnt taking into consideration further purification of the graphite so we could easily receive more money.
For a fully commercial operational plant we are working with 100 times the volume 2,500tpa of hydrogen, but the Cost of Build such a plant I could imagine only be Circa 50 Million, by this stage the sale price on bulk would run between $5-7kg, input costs still the same without purification of graphite run around to circa $1Mill per year, output return could be $12 - 18 million so payback circa 3-4 years without further graphite purification.
NB: Operating cost analyses for both Hazer and SMR systems includes principal commodity input costs only, and do not consider additional plant operation costs, (e.g. labour, maintenance, water/steam or other ancillary consumables), depreciation or capital costs
