it makes much more sense to invest in the technology that will eventually replace the key persons than to ignore it and throw money at something that will become obsolete. its like kodak throwing money at brick and mortar printing places during the rise of digital photography. (note that this is definitely over the top reasoning)

there will always be a need for good radiologists to check over the machines diagnosis but you would have to be blind to see that they also represent a very large portion of staffing costs. If a company can do anything to reduce the amount of trivial stuff they do or make them more efficient then the company wins. it also is a good thing for the radiologists as the trivial stuff is taken off their plate
