There is no comparison between Nearmap/Google and 3DP as they provide completely different services. 2D aerial photos and data point imaging are completely different things.
The surveyors I have on my current project use a similar laser scan technology to 3DP that scans a room and remarkably maps out each individual object, ill ask them more about it when I see them next.
