Back to the announcement. Below is my opinion only.
Has anyone realised that management cleverly changed how they compared their own TCV metric between quarters?
The Sept Quarterly compared TCV to the prior corresponding period (PCP) while the Dec Quarterly just compared the previous quarter (QoQ).
Because TCV is a cumulative metric, the PCP comparison method is really important and should be used to compare apples with apples, so to speak.
However, comparing the cumulative TCV quarter on quarter is woefully misleading
Anyway, being a bit suspicious of managements objectives, I thought I would investigate, and sure enough, the PCP figure for TCV that should have been used in the December quarterly was actually down 1M.
To be clear, TCV as at 31 Dec 2021 was 11M while TCV as at 31 Dec 2022 was 10M. So they should have reported a 9% drop in TCV if they compared it properly like what was used in the Sept quarterly.
Not a great look if management want to build trust!!!
