Think it's fair to say Jacobs are committed to Divergent and the entire data-driven ecosystem. Just a matter of where Pointerra fits in:

Chief Operating Officer Bob Pragada said the Divergent Solutions unit’s main technology focus areas include cloud computing, cybersecurity, data and other digital technologies.

“All our markets are increasingly data-driven, and the collection, analysis, processing and application of data is fundamental to our design and management of infrastructure, and protection of our national security,” Pragada said.

The company sees the Divergent Solutions unit’s creation as a “critical enabler to the entirety of our business” that can “drive meaningful value for our clients’ business,” Pragada added.

Starting a new segment means some realignment of the business structure is needed, so Jacobs is moving cyber and intelligence solutions; technical and innovative solutions; and platforms, technologies and software solutions from the critical mission solutions unit to divergent solutions.

One of the other shareholders did ask a question about the defence tender, and I am pretty sure that Ian mentioned that the tender hadn't been awarded yet?

Ian acknowledge that a deal with defence has taken longer than expected, but he still seemed relatively confident that Pointerra's platform will get involved in some defence deals at some point- as shown in one of the FY24 Outlook points in the AGM presentation yesterday (see below in bold):

FY24 presents multiple opportunities across each of Pointerra’s six key market sectors to generate recurring subscription revenue growth. AEC, Natural Resources, Transport and Defense are expected to outperform relative to the Company’s standout Energy Utility sector.

Maybe @Psalty could confirm exactly what was said - as I was taking some notes at the time of this question from the shareholder (and I can't multi task ).

I didn't want to mention this point in my original summary - as I know that the mere mention of a defence contract for Pointerra creates a lot of "spirited discussion" on these threads
