Thanks for sharing your experience! Though when you look through Pointerra's past announcements of contract awards a lot of the time they do mention minimum contract values and sometimes more tangible details of what the proof of concepts involved (eg the storm response program, amazon etc). And they kept winning a lot of these contracts with the same large utility customers over several years. If the product was not useful wouldn't this have all blown up 2 or 3 years ago? Why would FPL and Entergy etc keep awarding them new contracts?

The lag between ACV and cash receipts has been an issue for a long time, but if you ignore ACV the cash flows and revenue were still trending up pretty nicely for several years and have really just fallen away substantially in the last 12 months or so. This corresponds with the fastest rate hikes in modern history and enormous economic uncertainty, and in an industry that is conservative. And keeping in mind that IkeGPS have also had a 60% fall in transaction revenue (essentially usage) in the last half. So to me it seems likely that the macro conditions are more to blame than anything else.

But this is still a pretty gloomy picture because the macro conditions could persist for years, and at the very least it indicates that Pointerra's platform is not essential to the utilities, or had to this point not become embedded in their core operations. Short term survival is very uncertain even if everything Ian Olson has said is 100% accurate.
