The whole point of the advisory board is to bring a bit of impartiality. Something that ethical companies do. Besides, two-thirds of these people you mention are not MDs!
A better analogy than yours is like being an accounting company and deciding to audit their own books. Or being a surgeon and deciding to operate on your own child.
It's just red flag #512 when it comes to RCE!
