Cafa This first RCT has a primary outcome of Local Disease Control at 16 weeks ( and safety and tolerability). And there are only 80 to be enrolled. So unlike Overall Survival it can report an outcome at 16 weeks. If all the sites recruit then it might only take a year to complete. Maybe. But it could be harder to show a difference at 16 weeks. The difference in rate of resection would be known by 6 weeks. Sirtex failed their RCTs and was still adopted and the company sold for 2 billion. It’s weird. The technology must do RCTs but the results can always be interpreted variably. You have a point about LVADs but I think Sirspheres are actually a reasonable comparator. I got the feeling Nigel was actually running the company for much of the time and Gilman was just a figurehead. A Walter Mitty type. So I have confidence in him.
