Getting $247K from shareholders was quite amazing really given the price difference between the current SP and the Rights Issue price. However, it does not help AVQ much. Their options for raising cash are now very limited. Yes, they can place the balance of the Rights Issue but it has to be done on the same terms as what was offered to shareholders. No reasonable institutional investor would pay 16c/share to get into AVQ now given San Jorge does not look like stacking up, due to its low grade and AVQ still does not have Kolosori back. I wonder why finalising the Mineral Resource for San Jorge has been delayed? Either because AVQ can not pay a consultant to finish off the resource, due to lack of cash, or it is not good result and they want to delay having to announce the Mineral Resource until they try and get some cash. Given the failure of the capital raising and limited options to raise additional cash, surely AVQ should be cutting costs and shedding management to get their costs under control. Their failure to do so tells you all you need to know about whether Management are acting in the best interests of shareholders or not.
