I must take exception to your post. You are using one size fits all commentary here.

I have posted on the recovery challenges graphite miners face before. Generally speaking most mines have a grade around the 10% mark with a 1-2% cutoff (the point below which the material is not counted), several potential mines that are highly rated have a starting grade much lower than 10%. Talga is the exception to the rule, the Vitangi grade is virtually 25% with a 10% cutoff. Talga do not count material which most other mines have as their main grade!

Once the graphite is separated from its ore it must undergo an energy intensive purification/spherinisation process, generally only 50% recovery. I assume this is where you get your number from. However, for the graphite to become active anode material it must be coated, usually another 50% recovery hit. So to compare any other mine with Talga you generally need to divide the grade of that mine by 4.

Talga has developed processes protected by IP that has a 90% recovery from its ore to active anode material.
