Everyone who is baffled why the SP didn’t put on 20% or more are massively underestimating the Aussie punting culture and it’s effect on any great company news days that are well telegraphed to the market in advance. So many shares would have been churned over by a heap of blokes punting 20,30,40k just to try and make a few grand on the day. Many of them would have been jumping out even or taking a small loss when it became clear she wasn’t going to kick on, on Thursday.
Luckily for us this race is a marathon, not a sprint for two year old fillies.
