OK so an expansion of drop-off locations. That's good for Australia's recycling targets. Still, the argument is around volume, cash flow and short-term viability - forget long-term it's not in the mix. Cold hard facts needed to justify profitability - 110 new stores ? So projections from that are ?
Why ? Because in this latest discussion the Chief himself declares "might take 5-10 years to reach 40-50% volume". So if we read that correctly there's one hell of a lot of funding required to support the build up, and, what occurs in the interim ? Competition on the horizon, changing market conditions and of course spending.
This venture is entirely funded from the Battery Scheme and it's clear that's what is being heavily relied on (remember Griffin liking it to money for jam ?). No mention of the anticipated or projected income from making a product (the mystery MMD) or for that matter even any specific numbers around Scheme payments - whole lotta fanfare around the "first payment" but how much was that ?
Just a thought, but would think shareholders would like something a little more solid than a fuzzy feeling around recycling.
We might love the Koala, but they don't earn for themselves.
