I’m inclined to agree but the challenge with nuclear is the general population’s receptiveness to it.
I know the Nationals support Nuclear and I expect some Libs support it in a private capacity, but many don’t due to the eye-watering cost involved in developing it and acquiring trained professionals to keep it running.
Moreover, the majority of the population has been raised on anti-nuclear material and the Greens (and Labor to some extent) will rally hard against any consideration of such.
Not to mention the shit we’d get from New Zealand and Indonesia. The irony wouldn’t be lost on India either considering how we treated them back in the late 1900s when they pursued nuclear capabilities.
It’s still a lost cause in Australia I think.
