"The only case when it is considered to be negative" – there is also the case where the company has sold the only profitable part of the business. EOS Defence hasn't been profitable for at least four years. Large sums have been spent on counter-UAS solutions that have so far failed to gain traction in the market. And RWS research has been languishing for a decade, so now the company struggles to sell a gimbal with a tracking system.
Hopefully the company can regain their position – EOS Defence was once their only profitable division – but management have substantially increased risk by offloading their best earner. They've basically given themselves a 12-18 month runway for getting EOS Defence off the ground and flying again.
