There is not plenty of work for drill rigs in WA. Have you been out to Kalgoorlie recently and seen how many are parked up in the Industrial Area. Exploration for nickel, lithium and REE's has come right back and whilst gold and copper prices remain high there is a glut of drillrigs sitting idle. A lot of drilling companies are going around hunting for work.
Nevertheless, I would say your Option E is the most likely scenario.
Misidentifying fool's gold from gold is the most basic thing you learn as a geologist in WA. Having 9 geologists in the team and no-one recognising this error is a basic lack of failure in understanding the geology.
