There was a period that we were essentially told to stand down for just over 2 months (at 10-12hrs a day, 7 days a week) with next to no work being completed by well over 100 employees in that division at around $10k pre tax per week per employee. A few hundred Mali employees doing minimal for a month or two will not break the bank.

my point in all this being, if you have not experienced the mining world, you do not understand the wastage that is involved on all sites… generally speaking, it’s actually budgeted in there, and in the long term is very minor….
from memory, chevron was expected to profit around us$50m for ever ship load of LPG at Barrow island once in production, and that was at 2017 prices.

Not green to construction or mining , been in the game for nearly 40 years (murrin for 4 of them) the 3 biggest threats to construction in my opinion are materials,materials and materials or lack of
The sites you mentioned above have owners that can absorb delays cost blow outs ,however we are still a very small company on a tight budget
I hope my source is wrong and I might get confirmation in a few days
