My head has finally cleared after last night shenanigans (started at 8am finished at 2am with lots of amber ale consumed after 5pm).
What a fantastic day/night/morning.
The highlights.
*We literally spent hours chatting with Spartans hyper competent generals Simon, Nick and Craig, it was such a data dump that I really don't even know where to start.
* We met the famous
@speculator101 in the flesh (definitely was not disappointed, I think we could have spoken for several more hours).
* Always fantastic to catch up with
@wassa, I have learnt and continue to learn so much from Wassa.
* Watching Wassa and Speculator debate in the flesh (I could see from Marc Ducler's facial expression that he was enjoying the banter as much as anyone).
* Lots of other great Hotcopper friends were with us at the event
@damosid88@Jolly john sorry Andrew and Russel I have forgotten your HC handles as you had both confessed to being more HC long-time listeners first time callers.
*
@sabine the boys made special mention of your impressive cake, they are looking forward to tucking into the cake armed with silk napkins and tea's/coffees when they return back to the office.
* I loved their story about meeting one of my favourite posters
@calmbeforestorm. They chatted with you, then shortly after they'd noticed you'd posted on HC, generously sharing with us all some of the info from your enlightening conversation. Nick told me they addressed you as Calmbeforethestorm when you went back for another round of interrogations.

*The RRS crew put on another flawless event (great food, plenty to drink, wonderful service).
*Mark Ducler is always a highlight; the man is a walking gold miner encyclopaedia Brittanica. Ask him a question on any project and he will give you a well-considered thought-provoking response.
*The Spartan boys were handing out Spartan branded stubby holders and caps (will treasure these).
*Spec kindly gave us a packet of beautiful Christmas cards designed by his talented daughter (if you don't mind Spec, could you please pass me on the name of the charity so I can order some more of these please).
I still have a tremendous amount of work to catch up on so I will leave this short and sweet.
I've made a decision to spend less time on HC/watching stock price fluctuations so I will no longer be posting as often as before. This way I can spend more valuable time on analysis (I've been really lazy with this lately).
If I find anything of real interest, I will be sure to still post it.
I really hope to make it to more conferences next year so I can meet more of you all out there on the circuit.
