Sorry, I do not actually follow the minerals sands industry at all, but perhaps somebody else can answer your question.

My interest in MDL stemmed from their original gold mining activities, which were spun out as TGZ (now just TSX listed) some years. I first bought MDL shares in 2006 or 2007 while they were building their gold mine in Senegal and the mineral sands deposit was just a future project. I am mostly invested in goldies, but kept an eye on MDL and bought back in at 22 cents in 2015. It was just an opportunistic buy and having noticed some fundies also being interested in MDL as the share price fell.
