This hole thread appears to have descended into a "drive for show, putt for dough exercise" - an expression we used to use when I played golf.

Can someone tell me what a very high rate means? Intuition tells me that the flow rate depends only on a, the gas pressure, b. the productive interval, c. the permeability near the well and d. the choke size. Furthermore, the permeability becomes less important as you move away from the well because, for a given pressure drop, the gas has a bigger area to flow through.

It seems to me that that a well which will flow at a rate of R mm/day for N years is a better well than one that flows at 2R mm/day for N/3 years.
