Not pointless at all. Dragging office people out into the muck, noise and smell of industry to see things actually happening and the size of it all is important. Then they are far more aware of the dedication of the company to a project rather than looking at a bunch of numbers on a screen.
And I would rather wait for the correct numbers from ED1 than a calculated guess.
