They aren't getting them for free welds. At some point in time (if the options are in the money) then they have to stump up 82 cents per share for them to be "getting a bonus", which goes into the coffers at EMR.
So, if for example the SP is $1.00 somewhere between now and 2026 then they could exercise their option, pay 82 cents for it and convert the option to a fully fledged share and cash in for net 18 cents.
If the SP fails to get past 82 cents in that timeframe then the options will expire worthless and they get no bonus at all.
In the meantime we all hope that they are working their butts off to get the SP into the stratosphere so that they can get an obscene bonus from those incentive options!
