Yeah definitely a bot and by traders who don't pay brokerage per transaction... Hard to work out what exactly the algorythm is, but they are most likely trying to trigger conditional orders.
Like someone that says "buy at market value when the last price = 2.7"... really hard to make sense of and a little frustrating. Most of the time traders seem to see past it.
