Your suggestion does not work in the real world. The company could not delay the listing when it is ready otherwise the company needs to change the IPO prospectus and going through the IPO process again. There is no such simple thing that the IPO listing could be delayed without going through another approval cycle. This could be the reason why the market is not happy about it.
