I don't think this says anything about progress on enrolled numbers. The process would have started months ago - probably some weeks for Monash Health to formally agree to take part, then more weeks to prepare and submit the ethics application, then several weeks for the application to go before a human research ethics committee. They may have asked for more info. Eventually it gets approved.
So today is the day it gets announced - even if the trial closes fully enrolled with 300 patients tomorrow.
Hopefully a few patients in Australia get in though. Good on many levels, not the least Australian medicos recognition of Mesoblast's credibility.
