It is highly likely that it does work, but opening it up to Australians is not demonstrative of that. I think the company have done this so that if and when it is announced to be successful, Australia will have some skin in the game. And from a PR point of view it looks better if Australians were accessing life saving product during the trial. It gives the company a national stamp right before the lid blows off.
That said, if the trial is stopped early imminently, as many are hoping and predicting, then chances are there'll be no Australians in the trial. Or am I missing something?
