That is right. You can charge what ever the market will accept in the USA (there are rule of thumb based on efficacy and other factors), but once the price has been set outside of the USA then the payers won’t pay anymore than the lowest price set. This is why Australia is often the last country to get new drugs as the PBS drives a very hard bargain.
