US and global demand for rapid tests will far exceed current available supply. This is becoming obvious very quickly along with vaccines there won’t be enough supply for the worlds population to implement boosters globally before the globe is vaccinated to any degree needed.
The AUS gov will be found wanting again just like the vaccine debacle they are too slow to move and by the time they decide to go ahead all the supply has been taken by other countries already.
Seems crazy the federal government won’t back a locally made product to help assist with scale up this should’ve happened months ago to get it in place ready for reopening and yet they continue to sit on their hands expecting vaccinations will take care of the pandemic which has been shown to not work anywhere in the world without being used alongside mass testing. UK it seems are about to give up on PCR testing altogether and only use antigen tests which would make sense when PCR is taking far too long and far too expensive to be an effective strategy longterm.
Real time data logged accurate fast testing seems like such a simple solution to what is about to become a very large problem in this country and yet the Australian government still won’t come to the party to secure a sovereign manufacturing and supply chain. Biden has gone ahead and secured US manufacturing and supply chains whilst our own government is about to be found wanting again.
