Your "home computer" won't have to process anything taxing on its CPU or GPU very soon.
It will be inside your TV or simply plugged into a wall socket. Internet connection and video switches are all that will be needed.
Cost is irrelevant against industry needs and the pace at which it's moving.
Performance and longevity are what they are looking for.
