Totally agree with your post. It's also worth mentioning the software & firmware meet compliance with OCPP 1.6 protocols and by the sounds of it can be upgraded as new protocols are released. Basically it makes the charger smart with communication with the grid. It is also ISO something or rather compliant for it to recognise the car it is being paired with. Although, it's not necessary you will find EV stations will opt for this as they make decisions on their requirements, and many governments are also making it a requirement. Further, my understanding is the 1.5 protocol can't be upgraded to the 1.6 protocol, so maybe old chargers become obsolete or will require some manual upgrades. There aren't many chargers out there that are 1.6 compliant so to a degree it does give RFT first mover advantage.
