You will find many if not all the car manufactures are part of CharIN. I think a decision was made in collaboration to use the charger for testing as its small and sleek, however the testing was for designing and integrating the 1.6 protocols and ISO standards. The various parties all benefit as their cars are also tested to ensure communication with their vehicles also functions correctly ensure communication to meet ISO requirements and ocpp protocols.
