The recent political assassinations in Ecquador and the increasing control exercised in that country by the local drug cartels over the government and legitimate businesses operating there is scaring investors away. Bullet proof vests are now standard attire for anyone refusing to cooperate with all the bribery and corruption. Do not expect the forthcoming elections to salvage the situation. Power is money and money is drugs. Most of the population live in poverty and are easily misled into criminal activities. Let's hope that the gangs do not extort a share of any profit that TTM may ultimately earn.
