They didnt buy shield because the land in mauritania was a lovely place. sheild only did a bit of work and detected world class grades and intercepts . the land is over 98% unexplored yet it hosts the same greenstone belts as tasiast, identical rock types etc.
the only thing that seperates the properties is 10km of sand dunes.
If the diamond drilling results come out positive there will be no denying the comparisons to Tasiast. remember Tasiast is the biggest discovery in the world at this current moment.
Burkina Faso will take Gry above $3 in my opinion, mauritania is a bonus on top of that.
