Not sure where you have been the past few years but what makes a reliable news site? Definitely isn’t the major mainstream news sites anymore. They got absolutely everything wrong during covid and have been wrong countless times in relation to the Ukraine conflict too. I would put the smaller sites as just as reliable as any other news sources these days. Anyway, putting the source aside, I shared it to express what the former US treasury officials thoughts were on the global situation. I think the former official has more validity than current officials because they are free to say as they want with less censorship, obviously their job is not at risk by speaking out.
