What’s to say conditions in Chile get worse over the next 5 years and then the Chile government does something stupid and interferes with market pricing of Lithium. Lithium buyers may not be able to decide between dealing with rational players or a Chile government desperate for foreign exchange to prop up its currency and offer deeply discounted Lithium. Dislocated market pricing is a nightmare scenario.
Given the huge future demand for lithium, I as an investor want stability and certainty and do not want to see any element of critical minerals nationalised.
