Not everything is created equal, they have shown lithium can be extracted with weak acid at good recovery. Provided they have the deposit well characterised by mineral and they can efficiently remove the carbonates efficiently at full scale imo this will be lower risk and cost compared to roasting and most brines.
There is a question on acid cost and supply as well as total capex. Will get an idea from upcoming studies.
