If his suggestion was about the value of money then you have it the wrong way around, $2.50 being $4 in 3 years time means a significant devaluation of money. (that sort of inflation would be most unlikely)

While not trying to support his arguments, if you're in stocks that are going up now, your own $2.50 might well be worth a lot more than $4 in a much shorter time frame than 3 years that can then buy into names like WR1 when they turn the corner and compound further. That's the real time value of money in this game
