Another possibility is that the old normal fault lines created from super continent separations have undergone reverse thrust faulting pushing the rhyolite into the hanging position followed by erosion of the overlying beds. This could also put the older rhyolite and Yavapai beds above the mafics as found. How does this sound? Anyway, these types of deposits can be super large as indicated by the median tonnages of ore shown in the diagram.
