Cheers plough. A shame SL was not able to farm out the tenements for Lithium and other minerals during the recent mania!
and.... a thank you for you leading me down the rabbit hole instead of @Peppie .... I won't even say how long I have been looking at old reports for this evening
Firstly... for a chuckle, this headline from an old GCY presentation (2016) few years too early, but hopefully can finally be achieved through SPR...
Though of course the plan back then was to produce 200k from two separate operations (in the near term, it will just be one!)
SPR better not forget to renew the mining lease (granted last 2013), as hopefully it will be an issue that they produce past 2034
Whilst there has been quite a lot of air core drilling across some of SPRs tenements, mostly around Dalgaranga, there were very few deep drill holes (even today, most deep drilling is only on NN and now Pepper (though WW and Sly Fox have had a few deepish holes). Below is a map showing 100m & 200m holes. Not sure if you have this handy SL, but would be interesting to see what it looks like after all the drilling that has occurred in the last decade.
Once GCY acquired Dalgaranga, most drilling was air core or, RC at the main pit and Golden wings. I note a few posters have wondered how GCY ever achieved a high market cap and share price, basically... they drilled and discovered a lot of low grade ounces, for example, the main pit, Gilbey's South, Plymouth, Sly Fox, Golden wings plus got lucky with a rising gold price and... the boards past success with GIR (everything else they drilled, other than Archie Rose to the north, never achieved an MRE to date).
Fast forward to 2016, and in reality, they still did not undertake a huge amount of drilling, other than around the main pit. As above, 99% of the historical drilling was air core and hopefully missed potential NN look-a-likes.
Late 2016, lots of air core done (or planned). But... all looking for Gilbey's pit look-a-likes...
Finally we get to late 2018, when the plant has been finished and first gold just poured. (Greencock got it's name changed to Archie Rose btw).
Would be so interesting to know if SPR are at all allowed/able to start looking further afield along the trend?
Slightly off topic, but... I just find it bloody interesting, whilst Glenburgh has basically be fully sidelined (fair enough), the sheer scale of it still gives me hope that a new district play is sitting in SPRs back pocket). To be fair, Dalgaranga/Yalgoo tenements stretch around 140km (though SPR rarely shows exactly which exploration tenements it has).
I can understand that SPR is keeping the air core/RC drilling a low key affair. After the false starts with Arc, Patient Wolf (and even Tanquery of the GCY days). Plus... the market only really cares about the high grade U/G in the near term.
Perhaps I just think about SPR too much, but whenever I see a corrugated roof, I think of NN and it's look-a-likes.
