I am up usually till around 2 am watching US markets. The sell off relates completely to Trump's tariffs and the negative story for the world economy. It has become a risk off market. To Putin top of that a significant move downward in Silver prices and a rollercoaster in gold prices and it's totally acceptable to see risk stocks like AVM be sold off.
Now will it go lower or higher? I suggest everyone here spend some research time watching US markets tonight to seek guidance. Could this be another major drop as we saw in 2020 at the start of the covid crisis. One could say Trump's tariff regime would have similar outcomes to a global pandemic in the sense it will put a dagger through global trades heart, much the same as the pandemic did. Also there will be a flight to safe havens like large gold miners, utility stocks and low risk stocks that are not as reliant on trade, maybe insurance or royalty stocks. A couple of my faves are TLS and TCL for safety. Just had a quick look now and the three indicies in the US futures are flat, so no sudden urge to buy the dip , but also no further panic. But personally with such volatility in these markets, I will observe after opening to get a feel for real sentiment. I exited all my US stocks prior to this drop as it wasn't rocket science to see it coming .
Now back to AVM, I will suggest that our share price will fall with further instability in US markets, and also keep an eye on gold and silver prices as they are susceptible to global slow downs, especially silver as it is an industrial metal as well as precious. Now if we see a bounce then perhaps there is the chance we hold this price and rebound over coming days.
