Seems apparent that the Portia pit has run into a metallurgical issue. I'm guessing that it is not as amenable to gravity separation the deeper they go. If so, then leaching of sulphides will be best case and worst case it might need roasting if it turns into refractory gold.
No doubt in my mind some ITKs started cashing in their chips when the evidence of processing issues started to appear. I posted this suspicion some time ago. Hence the dramatic drop in SP.
Notwithstanding the above, HAV will be gaining heaps of valuable mining and engineering experience from the Portia experience that will stand them in good stead for future developments. However, I would be happier if the Board or at least executive management gets strengthened with some appropriate experience. Maybe appoint a CEO that has got the suitable CV to take HAV to the next level of being a mid tier miner. That would free Giles up to do what Giles does best......... explore!!
