A poster was earlier commenting on just this point about dealing with the Japanese. He had been doing some training in Japan, I recall. Their attitude to honour is not to be dismissed.


Agreed. I'm off to Japan in a fortnight to visit my daughter, an English teacher. She has noticed such a difference there, the way everyone interacts with each other, with mutual respect. Even her pupils (despite being teenagers), they are all well-behaved in class and don't disrupt lessons the way they do here. They are still taught discipline and respect for their elders.
